Dilkusha, which means “heart’s delight” in Persian, was built in the 1920s by Associated Press correspondent Albert W. Taylor and his wife, Mary L. Taylor. After the Taylors were deported from Korea in 1942, Dilkusha was left unattended over a long period of time, losing its original appearance. Rediscovered in 2005 by their son, Bruce T. Taylor, it now presents restored living spaces and exhibitions that highlight Korea’s modern history, architecture, and international exchange.
